The first joint MarLitCy - Blue Flag Beach cleanup took place today at 'Gold Fish' beach in Oroklini. Students and teachers from Pascal English School in Larnaca and members of Oroklini Municipality joined forces with AKTI Project and Research Centre to clean up the beach and record data on the types and amounts of marine litter collected. The data will be entered in MarLitCy's Marine Litter Database. A big thank you to all the participants!!
The U.S. Embassy and NGO partners AKTI, along with other runners and volunteers, will join together for a beach fun run, followed by a 5-minute beach speed cleanup and source identification workshop led by AKTI, within the framework of the MarLitCy project, and with the participation of other NGO partners.
Join us for a fun morning out and make a difference!! The beach fun run and speed cleanup that was organised by the US Embassy in Cyprus in collaboration with AKTI, within the framework of the MarLitCy project, was covered by CYBC's prime time news. |
