Famagusta Walled City Association

The Famagusta Walled City Association (Magusa Surici Dernegi, Masder) is a community based – civil society organization, established with a purpose of promoting and developing Famagusta walled city as a culture, history and tourism center with a sustainable approach. In doing so, MASDER focuses on Famagusta city as a whole, motivating the people of Famagusta to better understand the assets of their city and therefore preserve and promote them accordingly. Until now MASDER has organized several events and activities to bring more people to the walled city and show them the assets of the city, such as the children's festivals, where entertainment for children was created while at the same time  informative tours on the historical heritage of the city were provided. Furthermore MASDER is designated as the Steward of the walled city of Famagusta by the local authority, and regularly contributes to decision-making that affects the city.  

Enalia Physis Environmental Research Centre

Enalia Physis is a Cyprus-based non-profit organization established by a group of experienced scientists in 2009. Its purpose is to conduct and promote environmental research in marine and terrestrial ecosystems and to encourage and enhance education and ecological awareness of the general public. Enalia Physis aims, through the production of sound science, to influence the decision making process of environmental policies in order to promote good environmental practices.

The members of Enalia Physis are experts in biological and environmental research and management, covering a wide range of fields such as conservation of terrestrial and marine ecosystems, marine and freshwater biology, fisheries, ecology and environmental education. Researchers from Enalia Physis are experts in underwater activities including scientific diving and underwater training, and have a unique understanding and knowledge of the underwater habitats of Cyprus. 



AKTI Project and Research Centre

AKTI Project and Research Centre is an environmental education and awareness-raising NGO with many years of experience and participation in many national and European projects, focusing on promoting sustainability and environmentally friendly behaviour to children and immigrants, and promoting bi-communal dialogue in Cyprus through environmental education. AKTI has worked with schools, NGOs, local authorities, mass media, public and private bodies on the issues of green consumption, water conservation, waste, recycling and pollution prevention. Its activities include applied environmental research, non-formal education for children and youth and vocational training for adults. AKTI is also very active in environmental awareness and information activities for the public.

Scuba Divers Association

Scuba Divers Association is a new civil society organization of eleven member scuba diving establishments, in the North of Cyprus. These eleven members have established the association to promote scuba diving all over the coasts of the northern part of Cyprus. The Association's mission is to create awareness among the community with regard to preserving the beauty of coasts and sea.
