Coastal Businesses located on the beach are one of the key target groups of the MarLitCy project, as they have a big role to play in preventing waste created on or near their facilities from becoming marine litter. Therefore, MarLitCy is reaching out to restaurants, hotels and bars located on beaches around the island, asking them to take actions to minimise their impact on the coastal and marine environment, and specifically to minimise their use of single-use plastics.
MarLitCy has developed a Guide to help businesses and partners are performing extensive awareness raising campaigns around the island.
The response has been overwhelming!
We are very proud to present in the above map, all the coastal businesses that have pledged to implement plastic minimisation and other sustainability practices.
