The partners of the MarLitCy Project announce the Responsible Coastal Business Best Practice Competition. The aim of this competition is to exhibit the sustainability best practices implemented by Responsible Coastal Businesses. These practices could include: • Practices to reduce waste generation, especially plastic waste • Practices that decrease natural resource use, such as water efficient systems or renewable energy sources • Practices that increase social sustainability, such as improving accessibility of the beach or the establishment • Practices that raise awareness on sustainability, marine litter, circular economy in their visitors The Jury is composed by representatives of the organisations MASDER and AKTI. There are 6 awards available for this competition, 3 for Turkish-Cypriot businesses and 3 for Greek-Cypriot businesses. The winners of the competition will be announced and receive their award at the final event of MarlitCy, on the 25th of February 2022. To take part please send a list of the sustainability practices applied by your business, alongside the name of your business and its location to [email protected]. Only members of the MarLitCy Responsible Coastal Business Network are eligible to take part in the Responsible Coastal Business Competition.
