MarLitCy is very proud to announce that two of the actions that it is implementing have been selected by Blue Flag Cyprus as mandatory environmental activities. Blue Flag certified beaches on the island will carry out beach cleanups using the internationally recognized Ocean Conservancy Protocol and submit the data collected to the Cypriot Marine Litter Database. Additionally, all snack bars located on Blue Flag beaches will join the “Responsible Beach Bars” programme, essentially adhering to a Decalogue of Good Practice that aims to protect the coast and the marine environment.
This new MarLitCy-Blue Flag collaboration will ensure that marine environment stakeholders become active participants in efforts to free our seas from marine litter. Comments are closed.
